do i straighten my hair before i use a curling iron to do spiral curls?
my hair is wavy and thick!
and how long should i hold the it on the hair before i take it out?

don’t straighten your hair first because it will make it not want to curl. and hold the curling iron on the hair until when you touch the hair on the curling iron is warm/hot.
Normally if you straighten your hair with the iron, the curling iron won’t work because your hair would be too straight…I’ve tried…just let your hair air dry and then use the curling iron. I’d say leave it in for about 1 minute or less, you don’t want to burn your hair.
