How can you make spiral curls and keep them in for a long time?

I curl my hair a lot, but the problem is that it wont stay in. I have tried a few different kinds of hairspray, but it doesn’t stay in very long. What kind of hairspray should I use? Do you know any good techniques? I have long, straight, dirty-blonde hair.

Put a little hairspray on each strand before you do the curling, the heat and spray will help it last much longer. As to a speceific brand, I’m not really sure. I know if you don’t mind the price you can’t go wrong with a salon brand. Anyone from a local salon will do.

    Hope this helps!! :]

You just have use a decent amount of hair spray and a good curling iron. Sally’s beauty supplies has a ton of different curling irons and I was on a dance team a few years ago and I got the one that has metal twisted around it already so you can put your hair in it perfectly. And for dancing it was a ton of hairspray, but maybe you should look on seventeen.com or something for better tips.

Separate the hair into four equal sections, two at the front of the head and two at the back of the head, for easy handling. Use a clip to hold the sections in place.

    Step 2

Add a heat-styling serum or spray to each section of the hair for added heat protection. Use your fingers or a wide-tooth comb to evenly distribute the serum from root to tip. Comb as necessary.
    #
    Step 3

Turn the dial on the curling iron to the medium setting or 380 degrees F. Allow the barrel to completely reach the desired temperature. Avoid using a curling iron beyond 420 degrees F.
    #
    Step 4

Start at the root and slide the barrel down the section of hair. Repeat, this time holding the barrel at the tip of the hair, with about half an inch of overhang. In one smooth motion, roll your arm so that the barrel is upright and at a standing position. It would previously have been level to allow for one continuous motion down the length of the hair.
    #
    Step 5

Twist the barrel around the section of hair until you reach the top of the head. Stay half an inch away from the top of the head to prevent burning your scalp. Hold for 15 seconds and release.

    Step 6

Continue section by section until your head is covered with curls. Apply a light hairspray or setting lotion to tame flyaway strands and to lock in your spiral curls.

just take a section of hair and wrap it around the shaft of the curling iron; dont curl the way you normally would (as if youre putting in a roller.) just coil it around the iron. they usually stay in pretty well on their own..but just in case, get an extra hold hairspray…
i use aussie..stays in and smells amazing.

You can try putting in the hairspray before curling it or using a mouse afterwards.
I have gel spray so I personally would spray it into my hands, rub it around them scrunch my curls with it, I think that would work pretty well.
You can use a lot of things but scrunching them keeps them tight.
