Short curly hairs are absolutely fabulous; but people shy away from this due to the limited styling options. The assumption is not true since there are various ways by which you can look really great sporting a short curly hair style.

Please remember that short curly hair styles are not meant for everybody. Don’t go for a hair cut just because you had a bad day and you feel that maintaining long hair is a cumbersome process. Your facial features and hair texture play an important role in determining which hair style suits you the best. If some of the styles you see in the magazine look fabulous, it does not mean that you will also look good in the same style unless you have similar facial features.

Once you decide that you want to have short curly hair style, it is time to meet a hair stylist. Consider the references you can get from people who have a wonderful hair style to zero in on the right stylist. The hair stylist will be able to design the right style for you considering your facial features and hair texture. Make sure your stylist keeps up to date with the current trends because at the end of the day you don’t want to look old fashioned in your new hair style.

Short hair styles are the trend among Hollywood?s most glamorous celebrities, who are constantly showing off their latest short dos on the red carpet. A short style is defined as one in which the hair falls above the shoulder; short hair can actually look great on every woman if it is tailored to her particular facial shape, with the idea being to accentuate the positive features of her face while de-emphasizing the negatives.

For example, if you have a long face, your short hairdo should make your face look fuller; this can be done with a chin-length bob cut with side-swept bangs and curled or softly layered on the sides. Celebrities with this shape of face include Liv Tyler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Giselle Bundchen.

On the other hand, with a round face, the style should make the face look longer; this can be done with a longer bob whose length is just below the chin with layers or waves starting below the top part of the hair to add height. Round-faced celebrities include Kirsten Dunst, Kate Bosworth and Michelle Williams.

Maybe you need a Gia Makeover!

When it comes to hair styles, there are so many different
options today to make changes. You can change your color, add
highlights, add bangs, add layering and even add length or
thickness with hair extensions. Makeovers are becoming more and
more popular as television shows such as ABC’s Extreme Makeover
outline how a makeover is done and drastic changes that can be
done. Hair stylist, Gia Wood of Salon D in Dallas, Texas
specializes in makeovers and hair extensions and is considered
Dallas’ makeover specialist. She has hundreds of clients locally
and many clients that fly or drive in to Dallas for her
services. One of her clients flies all the way from Spain just
to get her hair done. Gia says, “I find that clients who are
willing to drive or fly that far just to get their hair done are
the biggest compliment and the proof of my success.”

So what is this makeover fuss all about? Gia explains that most
of her clients have either been the victim of an inexperienced
stylist or have simply not thought enough about the change in
hairstyle they wanted and they are now stuck with something they
hate. Gia adds, “Most of my makeovers include color correction,
which can be highlights, color, gloss or all of the above.
Makeovers also include a haircut and style, along with makeup
application. The total process can take around 4 hours to
complete.”

Gia says, “When dealing with color correction, the first thing
every client asks me is ‘…how damaged will my hair be after a
color correction?’” Believe it or not, color correction is not
as damaging as it used to be. The old way of stripping hair
color out with bleach is history. Modern day products allow hair
stylists to remove ‘artificial pigment’ only, meaning that it
will not open, damage, or split the cuticle of the hair in any
way. This allows hairdressers to remove the most intense colors
from hair, and allow it to be re-colored in the same appointment
time.”
