Should i get a spiral curling iron?

i want wavy curls (like miley cyrus). would it work i curled my hair with a spiral curling iron then separated the curls? my hair doesnt hold curls that well so would my hair naturally make them looser into a more wavy look? also i sometimes get crimp marks from the clamp of my curling iron, should i not get one to prevent this? please give me any feedback on spiral curling irons

I really want to purchase a curling iron, but I do not know if I should get a spiral curling iron. What is the difference between the two. I want to get a curling iron to make curls and maybe waves.
